“A famous comedian once quipped, ‘80% of success in life is just showing up.’  Nothing better describes my experience at Trisker Orphanage.  Aside from painting and other projects, we all gave of our time for the kids.  From playing games to times of solitude, we were there for them, always showing how much we cared.  For the children at Trisker, we gave them the best we had…we showed up!!”

“When I was MUCH younger, I thought about being a missionary.  I had no idea where I would go or what it would entail but I thought it was something I should do for God.  Fast forward and life got in the way.  Reality hit and I realized I needed to find another way to serve God.  And I have.  One of those ways was becoming involved with Pick It Forward.

Traveling to Panama was an adventure, in and of itself, but being able to serve the children and people there was SO rewarding!  Even when I’ve been unable to travel to Panama I’ve worked ‘behind the scenes,’ helping with garage sales to raise money to buy chickens for the people of the Comarca, making blankets for the orphans at Trisker to keep them warm, making jewelry for the orphanage workers so they know they are loved and appreciated, etc.  Whatever was needed.  I was, and am, willing to do.  Being involved in Pick It Forward has been one of the most fulfilling things in my life and I thank God for it.”
